We’re big fans of immersive slots with fantastic visuals, especially when they come with 117,649 ways to win, three jackpot prizes and a maximum win of up to 19,200x. Which is why we had a ball of a time playing through iSoftBet’s Aztec Gold Megaways.

Now, we’re all for video slots that try to fit in as many functions and features as they can, but there is a case to be made for titles that stick to a narrower list of mechanics. As long as the implemented features make each round as engaging as it is rewarding, then a smaller feature set can actually make the game feel clearer and tighter. It’s a question of less is more, and Aztec Gold Megaways certainly fits that category. What the slot lacks in features, it more than makes up for in symbol values, which are incredibly high across the board.
Low-paying symbols pay anywhere between 16x to 35x for six-of-a-kind, while high-paying symbols can even dish out wins of up to 1,000x your selected bet. That’s the equivalent of the slot’s Mega jackpot.
So, despite not offering as varied a feature list as some other Megaways titles out there, Aztec Gold Megaways still feels incredibly rewarding, even when you’re just landing wins through low-paying symbols. This really shined through whenever we landed consecutive wins through the cascade feature. In fact, we landed our biggest win of ₹50,000 during the base game, not the Aztec Gold Megaways’ bonus mode.
Wilds – The trusty wild symbols step in for any missing pay symbols that could form part of a winning combination. They carry no value of their own but were particularly helpful in keeping consecutive wins going during cascades.
Scatter Symbols – These tokens are your way into the respin rounds, and you’ll need five of these disc scatters to access Aztec Gold Megaways’ bonus mode. They’re not exactly easy to come by and it took us well over a hundred spins before we finally managed to land all five in one spin.
Respins – The triggering scatter symbols are then locked onto the reels, while the rest of the board is cleared. You start off with three respins, during which you can either land more disc scatters which stick to the reels or empty slots. Whenever you land a disc scatter, the respin counter resets back to three. The scatters also come with their own multiplier value, which is applied to your total win at the end of the bonus. If you cover an entire reel in scatter symbols, a multiplier of 7x is applied to all wins on that reel. The respins end when you either cover the entire board in disc scatters or run out of respins.
Jackpots – Apart from disc scatter multipliers, respins allow you to land one of three Aztec Gold Megaways jackpots. You can land a mini, major, or mega jackpot which a reward of 30x, 100x or 1,000x your stake, respectively. The respins feature is a good break from the base game grind and can be pretty rewarding, especially with the jackpot prizes on offer.
Although it only comes with a modest set of features, Aztec Gold Megaways still manages to pull off a satisfying experience with high-paying symbols, jackpot respins and a maximum win of up to 19,200x your stake.
We highly recommend the Aztec Gold Megaways slot for experienced players who are looking for a simple but very rewarding time on the reels.
Red Tiger Gaming’s Dragon’s Fire Megaways brings some heat to the reels with high volatility, an RTP of 95.72%, and wins of up to 10,470x. Although we enjoyed the mix of fantastic features, including a cascade win multiplier, we had hoped the slot would increase the maximum win potential further.
NetEnt gave one of its most popular games a new lease on life with Gonzo’s Quest Megaways. We’re fans of the high volatility, 98% RTP and maximum win of up to 21,000x your selected bet.
