We loved Red Tiger Gaming’s Dragon Fire when it first released and it has been an absolute hit with players thanks to incredible visuals, a great set of features and high potential. It remains one of the provider’s most popular releases and earned itself a new, Megaways version that is sure to draw in a new set of players.
The new Megaways additions work really well, and we enjoyed the added excitement that came with up to 117,649 ways to win. Somewhat less exciting are the reduced RTP of 95.72% and a stagnant maximum win of 10,470x.

The original Dragon’s Fire slot was renowned for having a great set of features and Red Tiger has held on to all the good stuff, while also adding some new mechanics.
Now make no mistake, this is a highly volatile game, so don’t go expecting to land wins with every hit of the spin button. But even so, we managed to get mouth watering number of wins during the base game, even hitting a dragon egg multiplier of 10x through consecutive wins. It made a huge difference and the multiplier turned even modest low-paying symbol wins into big hauls.
On the other hand, we struggled to get to the free spins bonus and really felt the absence of a buy bonus feature. It took us over 120 spins to finally awaken the dragon and access the bonus rounds, but it was worth the wait, especially since our active dragon egg multiplier transferred to free spins too.
Wilds – The Dragon’s Fire Megaways wild symbols step in for missing pay symbols but don’t have any value of their own. They managed to save the day loads of times during our playthrough and allowed us to continue growing the dragon’s egg multiplier.
Fire Blast – Activating at random, the fire blast feature has the dragon leave its perch to rain fire on the reels. It can modify up to three of them, adding free spin symbols, wilds, and high-paying symbols. Although it triggered quite often, the fire blast never took us directly to free spins. We found it more useful whenever it landed high-paying symbols and wilds.
Dragon’s Egg Multiplier – This absolute gem runs across both the base game and free spins. The dragon’s egg multiplier increases with every consecutive win and can reach an incredible 50x. We never got anywhere near that figure, but we did manage to go over 10x a couple of times during the base game. The feature is supported further with the dragon’s eye boost which can land on any spin to instantly add a 10x multiplier to the dragon egg.
Free Spins – You’ll need three scatter symbols to access the free spins bonus and believe us when we say it’s easier said than done. We had to wait quite a while to finally get to the bonus mode, but when we finally got there, it was all worth it. Our dragon egg multiplier transferred to the bonus rounds and didn’t reset until the end of free spins. The result was a significant boost that gave us the biggest wins from the game.
The Dragon’s Fire Megaways slot is a great game in its own right. Still, the dragon egg multiplier is at the heart of this experience, and we loved how features like the dragon’s eye, free spins and fire blast all helped push its potential further.
What’s odd here is that while we expected the Megaways edition of Dragon’s Fire to add even more potential to the already fantastic figures that the original offers, both versions give away similar results. The maximum win is limited to 10,470x and the reduced RTP of 95.72% restricts things further.
Ultimately, Dragon’s Fire Megaways improves on all of its predecessor’s features, although it falls short with an unchanged level of potential. Still for those that prefer the Megaways format – we know which of the two versions they’ll be playing.
Gonzo’s Quest Megaways gives NetEnt’s mascot the dynamic rows treatment, with up to 117,649 paylines, high volatility and a fantastic RTP of 98%. We’re most impressed by the incredible maximum win potential of up to 21,000x your selected bet.
IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Megaways is certainly not for the faint of heart. It’s an incredibly highly volatile slot with a 96.64% RTP and up to 1 million paylines. And for us, Wheel of Fortune Megaways succeeds where Dragon’s Fire Megaways fails, with an astounding maximum win of 80,150x your stake.
